This link contains updates made to the SAFE-T act via trailer bills. As part of the Coalition for Frontline Police Officers, ICOPs is coordinating with other Police labor groups to monitor the progress made in implementing police reform. ICOPs is particularly monitoring the information regarding ILETSB and decertification. The latest information available indicates that ILETSB is still in the process of hiring staff and determining how they will meet the mandates of the police reform bill.

ICOPs is also working with the Illinois Chiefs and Illinois Sheriffs Associations regarding recruitment and retention and the legislative agenda to be pursued in Springfield by those organizations. Continue to monitor the ICOPs app and our social media for updates.

Previous Information: ICOPs continues to work with labor organizations and other concerned parties in Springfield regarding HB3653, the "police reform" bill. As we work to understand how this law will drastically change policing, we wanted to give you the most important information about the bill as it currently stands. Please review the letter from ICOPS, our attorneys, and the DuPage County State’s Attorney.

We have also included excerpts from the bill that we think are important for Police Officers to read thoroughly.
