The Illinois "Assault Weapon Ban" is now finalized as Public Act 102-1116. You can read the law here.

The final version includes exemptions to most provisions for active and retired law enforcement. As always work with your agency to determine their interpretation of the bill and contact ICOPs if we can be of assistance.

The Illinois General Assembly has passed and Governor Pritzker has signed an assault weapons and magazine ban. The final version of the legislation creates broad exemptions for active and retired police officers. You can read the final version of the bill here. 

We know there has been a lot of confusion due to the various versions of the bill floating around, so we want to make sure our members have the correct final version. Once the "Public Act" version has been posted we will post the updated link.
